About Mount Laguna Fire Department: Mount Laguna Fire Department proudly protects approximately 70 full time residents living in an area of approximately 32 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
Mt. Laguna is a recreational area located on Sunrise Highway in the midst of the Cleaveland National Forest, 45 miles east of San Diego. The Mt. Laguna Fire Department protects the 60 residents and 300 cabin owners of Mt. Laguna and also the over 3 million people that visit us annually. The mission of the Mount Laguna Volunteer Fire Department is to serve the community and citizens of Mount Laguna and San Diego County and to provide reserve firefighters with the highest level of training and hands on experience in order to prepare them to be professional career firefighters.
